Seattle-Area Poetry Featured on McNeil-Lehrer News Hour

On October 22, 2007, the McNeil-Lehrer News Hour, in its ongoing series on poets and poetry, featured Copper Canyon Press, Floating Bridge Press, Raven Chronicles, and Open Books, with on-location interviews by reporter Jeffery Brown of Michael Wiegers, Jeff Crandall, Phoebe Bosche, Christine Deavel, and J. W. Marshall.

Elizabeth Austen to lead second Poetry Roadshow

Her road trip could be a warm-up act for Washington state's first official Poet Laureate.

That's the hope for Seattle poet Elizabeth Austen, chosen October 9th to lead Poetry Roadshow 2006, a program developed by a partnership of arts organizations that seek to bring the power of poetry to under-served communities in Washington state.

Haiku Journey Computer Game

A new casual computer game for poetry and word-game lovers has just been released from Hot Lava Games, and is available for free preview. The game features 540 haiku by 45 leading English-language haiku poets, selected by WPA member Michael Dylan Welch, who also wrote instructional and informational text about haiku that appears at each of the ten game-play levels.
